Some Soap Bar Designs By Masterline Molds ...How Masterline Molds Creates a Soap Bar Silicone Mold
One of the services Masterline Molds provides is the ability to create plaster prototypes of soap bars, molding and Silicone Molds for companies who manufacture finished soap bars. The client provides us with their Company Logo and/or Artwork that they would like to have on the soap bar with the shape (oval, square, rectangle, circle, etc.) and the dimensions of the soap bar (length, width, depth of thickness). We suggest how the Company Logo and/or Artwork should be placed on the soap bar. Working with the client on paper, we create the design and then make a Plaster Prototype of the Soap Bar that the Client approves.

The Client approves the Soap Bar Plaster Prototype and we then create a "Block" that is used to make the Silicone Production Molds. The "Block" is a positive of the Silicone mold with spacing around the individual soap bars for the walls of the cavities to be created. There a walls made around the "Block" that forms the outer wall of the Silicone Mold. The "Block" is made to preserve the artwork and provide a constant mold for manufacturing. Each mold then is the same size and weight and each cavity in the mold contains the same size and weight for the soap bars. The "Block" is made from stone and is polished.

The Stone Block is used to created the Silicone Production Molds. The type of silicone we use is an Industrial grade silicone good for both hot and cold soap making process. It does not take on any scents, colours, perfumes or fragrances that may be used in soap making so more than one variety of soap many be manufactured with the molds. The silicone we use does not wear out over time and use. The Stone Block allows for more Silicone Production Molds to be created as the manufacturing needs grow.
Silicone Production Molds for a standard soap bar with twelve cavities.
Silicone Productions Molds are made with 12 cavities for a standard or larger sized soap bar, and 24 cavities for Guest/Hospitality/Promotional sized soap bars. The size of the mold is designed for one person to handle a mold with soap in the cavities, carry the mold on a tray and de-mold the finished soap bars by one person with ease. The size of mold allows for a mold to be placed in a heating unit (silicone can handle temperatures up to 350' F) should the process require or be placed into a refrigerating unit. Silicone has an insulating property that becomes relevant when you build a mold. A silicone mold with 100s of cavities causes the interior soap bar to take longer for the soap bars to cure and that would slow down production. By making a mold easy for one person to use, manufacturing becomes more flexible on size or work environment and allows for efficient manufacturing of finished soap bars.
